Champions at Internacional Mexicano – Pan Am Circuit 2019

Players from Brazil, Canada, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, USA and host Mexico won the medals at X Internacional Mexicano 2019, held in Aguascalientes, Mexico, from September 18 to 22.

Kevin Cordon got one more gold in Mexico. Guatemala’s star managed to defend his crown once again and won his third consecutive gold in this tournament. Cordon defeated local player Lino Muñoz in straight games (21-16 & 21-13) in the first match of the Finals Day. B.R Sankeerth (CAN) and Luis Montoya (MEX) won the bronze medals.

USA duo, Breanna Chi & Jennie Gai won the crown in Women’s Doubles. They defeated local athletes Vanessa Villalobos and Jessica Bautista by 21-10 in both games. Mexican duo won the silver with a great performance, defeating seeded 1 duo Daniela Macías / Danica Nishimura in Quarterfinals. The bronze medals were for Yesenia Duarte/Sabrina Solis (MEX) and Ghadia Nurul (INA)/Maria Delia Zambrano (ECU).

Jonathan Solis and Anibal Marroquin won the second gold for Guatemala. They defeated seeded 2 duo, Gareth Henry and Samuel Ricketts (JAM) in Quarterfinals, youth duo Uriel Canjura (ESA) and Alonso Medel (CHI) in Semifinals, and local duo Lino Muñoz/Andres Lopez in the Final. Brazil’s Fabricio Farias/Francielton Farias won bronze as well Canjura/Medel.

Fabiana Silva could not overcome Ghadia Nurul (INA) in the WS Final winning a silver medal for Brazil. Haramara Gaitan (MEX) and Nikte Sotomayor (GUA) won the bronze.

Mexico won the Mixed Doubles crown in home. Luis Montonya and Vanessa Villalobos got a great victories during this event, defeating duos from Argentina, USA and the seeded 2, Fabricio Farias/Jaqueline Lima, in the Final. Vinson Chiu/Breanna Chi and Sebastian Martinez/Jessica Bautista got the bronze after reaching semifinals (featured image).

Our athletes will continue competing at Pan Am Circuit 2019 that will have the next event in Guatemala this weekend: VI Guatemala International Series 2019.
