The Peru International Series 2026 concluded after five days of exciting competition at VIDENA, bringing together athletes from the Americas, Europe, and Asia in pursuit of valuable BWF World Ranking points. From July 1–5, Lima once again showcased the growing level of badminton in the Pan American region, with local athletes claiming multiple podium finishes and regional players standing out across all five events.
The host nation enjoyed one of its strongest tournaments of the season. Diana Corleto and Nikte Sotomayor captured the Women’s Doubles title after defeating Peru’s Fernanda Munar and Rafaela Munar in the final. Corleto added a second gold medal by partnering compatriot Christopher Martinez to win the Mixed Doubles title, overcoming Italy’s Giovanni Toti and Fernanda Saponara in three games.


The United States topped the podium in Men’s Doubles, where Ryan Nibu and Joshua Yang defeated Guatemala’s Christopher Martinez and Jonathan Solis to secure the title. The American pair completed an impressive campaign after overcoming Brazilian opponents in the semifinals.
Peru also celebrated several notable performances throughout the week. Ines Castillo reached the semifinals in Women’s Singles, while the Munar sisters earned silver in Women’s Doubles. Additional bronze medals came from Naomi Junco and Namie Miyahira in Women’s Doubles, as well as Diego Subauste and Mei Kiyota in Mixed Doubles. In Men’s Singles, Adriano Viale advanced to the quarterfinals, continuing his solid performances on home soil.

The tournament also featured strong performances from Brazil and Argentina. Brazilian pair Klerton Zaidan de Carvalho Silva and Marcos Ryan Santos Sousa reached the Men’s Doubles semifinals, while Klerton returned to the podium in Mixed Doubles alongside Maria Julia da Cruz Nascimento. Argentina’s Nicolas Oliva, Santiago Otero, Iona Gualdi, and Ailen Oliva also secured semifinal finishes, highlighting the depth of talent across the region.

With competitive matches throughout the week and podium finishes shared among several Member Associations, the Peru International Series once again demonstrated the continued growth of badminton in the Americas. As the international season progresses, tournaments like this continue to provide valuable opportunities for athletes to gain experience, earn ranking points, and prepare for the major events ahead.
