Pan Am athletes continue to bring their best badminton to different parts of the world.
USA players Vinson Chiu, Breanna Chi, Howard Shu and Paula Lynn Obanana, along with B.R. Sankeerth (CAN) reached medals at FLEET Mauritius International 2019, held in Quatre Bornes, Mauritius, from June 13 to 16.
Vinson Chiu and Breanna Chi won the gold in Mixed Doubles after beating athletes from Mauritius, Malaysia, Egypt and the United States duo Howard Shu and Paula Lynn Obanana in the final. Chiu and Chi did a great tournament and won in final by 21-17 and 21-16 against Shu and Obanana who reached the silver medal.
Also, Canadian player B.R. Sankeerth won bronze medal in this tournament. He scored important victories against Dharmamer (IND), Howard Shu (USA) and Moreels (BEL) but lost in semifinals against Goh (MAS) reaching bronze medal.
Our athletes continue to improve and prepare for the next challenges such as the Pan American Games in Lima 2019 and to reach the qualification for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.
