The XXXIV YONEX Pan Am Junior Championships 2026 got underway in João Pessoa, Brazil, with the Team Event taking place from July 19–21. The opening competition brought together the region’s top junior nations, with the United States delivering an outstanding performance to capture the continental title.

The tournament began with a group stage, where the top two teams from each pool advanced to the knockout rounds. The United States, Canada, and host nation Brazil topped their respective groups, joined by Peru, Paraguay, and Jamaica in the next stage.
Group A: USA, Peru, Colombia
Group B: Canada, Paraguay, Mexico
Group C: Brazil, Jamaica, El Salvador
In the semifinals, the United States defeated Peru 2–0, while Canada overcame Brazil by the same score, setting up a North American final. The championship tie was decided in favor of the United States, who defeated Canada 2–1 to secure the 2026 Pan Am Junior Team title.
The bronze medal match provided another exciting contest, as Peru defeated host nation Brazil 2–1 to earn the third place on the podium after a strong campaign.

BWF Vice President for Pan Am, Mr. Vishu Tolan led the awards ceremony alongside Mr. Roberto Santini, President of Brazil Badminton Asociation, and local authorities, recognizing the participating teams and institutions that continue to support the development of badminton in Brazil and across the region.
With the Team Event complete, attention now turns to the Individual Championships, where the Americas’ top junior athletes will compete for continental titles across the five disciplines.
