Tutor Refresher & Upskilling Workshop – TRU

BWF and BPAC developed a Tutor Refresher & Upskilling Workshop in BPAC headquarters with participations of current and future BWF Coach Education Tutors from Aruba, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico and United States.

This workshop, led by Sharon Springer, BWF Head of Educational Programmes, was held in two times due the languages. The Spanish group from september 27 to 29, and the English group from september 30 to october 2.

Special Olympics Latin America shared how they develop the sport between their athletes and the different methods that could be used by tutors to promote badminton.

During this workshop, participants deepened their understanding of their role within the BWF Coach Education programme, as well as share their successes and challenges as tutors thus far.

This workshop allowed participants to:

  • learned about new developments in the Coach Education Programme
  • explored their roles in course preparation, delivery, reporting and follow-up
  • boradened their range of tools for delivery assessment
  • standardised assessment criteria and policies
  • improved awareness of diversity and its implications within Coach Education
  • committed to taking up an active and consistent role in talent identification
  • shared best practices for course delivery and management
  • shared typical challenges and brainstormed solutions
