The Journey to Lima 2027 Is about to Begin

With the next edition of the Pan American and Parapan American Games set to take place in Lima, Peru, qualification procedures for badminton and Para badminton have now been established by the respective governing bodies, marking the start of an important cycle for athletes across the Americas.

For badminton, Panam Sports has approved and published the qualification system for Lima 2027. Qualification will be determined based on the BWF World Rankings published in Week 16 of 2027 (20 April 2027), which will notably include results from the Pan Am Individual Championships 2027. This adds even greater significance to the continental championship, as athletes pursue valuable ranking points in their quest to secure a place at the Games.

Meanwhile, the Americas Paralympic Committee has confirmed the qualification period for the Para badminton competition. The qualification window will officially begin on 20 July 2026 and conclude on 2 May 2027, giving athletes across the region the opportunity to earn their place at the continent’s premier multi-sport event.

Lima 2027 will bring together the best badminton and Para badminton athletes in the Americas. As the qualification process gets underway, the focus now shifts to the courts, where every tournament, every ranking point, and every performance will play a role in shaping the road to Lima.

Badminton Pan Am looks forward to following and celebrating the efforts of all athletes as they embark on this exciting journey toward Lima 2027.
