On monday 17, was held at Club Regatas facilities, a presentation to Coaches and Delegates from attending countries at the event. We had 11 countries represented by 24 participants. After the introduction of Mr. German Valdez who explained the last agreements with BWF regarding the Special Olympics project, Mrs. Ana Maria Salinas, officer from Special Olympics Peru, gave us an overview of the program, activities and coverage that Special Olympics have in all associated members. This was followed by an overview of the Agreement between BWF and SOI and important information, during which came the photo from El Salvador activity – opportunity in which we invited Prof. Rene Madrid from El Salvador to explain us all about the activities held in their country, knowing that Badminton is one of three sports part of SO in El Salvador!
We continued with the Mexico experience with their Pilot Activity last June in San Luis Potosi city and finalized with the video for the opening ceremony containing the activity held on saturday at opening ceremony. This video is in our facebook and has reached over 7,000 thousand people!
Finally the participants shared their interest and our recommendation to return to their countries/Associations and look into this new area of Special Olympics!
