Day Quotes:

“I admit that I have improved a lot and I am relatively new to the sport. My goal is to get on the podium and I really want to keep going, give it my all and continue improving.” said colombian Victor Aragon who had his first Para badminton international competition last year, during Pan Am Para badminton Championships 2022.

“I come with the dream of being able to win any of the 3 medals. I have worked a lot for this and I want to have fun above all. This is a party that para athletes long for and you have to come and have fun. Last year I broke two prostheses during a championship and I have been a little scared about that issue but little by little I have been gaining confidence and the prosthesis has not failed me so far.” refered Gerson Vargas (PER) after defeated experienced Rolando Bello (CUB) in the first match.

“My first match has been very exciting. Although I am experienced in Paralympic sport, here in Para badminton I am a beginner and starting with a victory against one of the favorites, for me is already the realization of a dream. My goal is to reach to the two finals, in mixed doubles and singles.” said Edwarda Oliveira (BRA) who defeated Canadian Olivia Meier, silver medalist at Lima 2019.
