Pan Am Players at Yonex K&D Graphics International Challenge

From December 18 to 22 the last tournament of the Pan Am circuit, the Yonex / K & D Graphics International Challenge 2018, was played in Orange County, USA, where Pan Am players measured forces with badminton players from around the world, in search of the podium.

Our Women’s Doubles Pan Am Champions 2018, Rachel Honderich and Kristen Tsai (CAN), showed that they are the best once again, by defeating athletes of Chine Taipei in the Semifinals and in the Final. Canadians won the gold after beating Hung Shih Han and Chien Hui Yu (TPE) by 21-19 and 21-15. In addition, the Olympics Eva Lee and Paula Lynn Obanana (USA) obtained the bronze medal.

Pan Am Olympic Player, Phillip Chew, and Ryan Chew (USA) won silver medal in Men’s Doubles. They could not beat the duo of China Taipei Hung / Pin in the final (18-21, 10-21) however they added important victories on their way to the podium.

Canada’s Talia Ng, Pan Am Junior Champion 2018, was the best Pan Am player in Singles. Ng got the silver medal after defeating badminton players from USA, China Taipei and Spain, and falling to Aya Ohori from Japan in the final. In Semifinals, Talia achieved an excellent result against seeded two, Beatriz Corrales (ESP), winning by 27-25 and 21-14.

En Mixed Doubles, Joshua Hulburt-Yu /Josephine Wu (CAN) and Howard Shu / Paula Lynn (USA) won the bronze medals.
