Pan Am Para Badminton Shining in Dubai

Vitor Tavares and Miles Krajewski won bronze medal at 2nd Fazza – Dubai Para Badminton International 2019, tournament held in United Arab Emirates from April 2th to 7th and with participation of Pan Am players from Brazil, Canada, Peru and United States.

Brazil SS6 star, Vitor Tavares got his second podium this year (Vitor won in Turkey last week) reaching semifinals in Men’s Doubles with Miles Krajewski (USA).

The Pan Am SS6 duo started the competition in MD SS6 Group A and beat Wyatt Lightfoot (CAN) /Yi-Ying Chen (TPY) to reach semifinals. Chinesse pair Lin/Luo defeate our athletes in a tough match (21-19, 21-16).

Outstanding Pan Am Para badminton athletes have a great performace in this tournament. Our Pan Am Champion Cynthia Oliveira (BRA) reached Quarter Finals in Women’s Singles SU5 and in Women’s Doubles Sl3-Su5 with Abinaecia Silva (BRA).

Also, ambassador of Lima 2019 Games, Pilar Jauregui (PER), reached Quarter Finals in Singles WH2 and in Mixed Doubles WH1-WH2 with Yuri Ferrigno (ITA). While Marcelo Alves (BRA) and Daniele Souza (BRA) did the same in Mixed Doubles WH1-WH2 and Rogerio De Oliveira (BRA) and Eduardo Oliveira (BRA) in Men’s Doubles SU5.

Our Para badminton players continue to improve and adding points in the World Ranking in search of the qualification for Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Congratulations!!
