Pan Am Para Badminton Players Ready – Basel 2019

Pan Am Players will compete at the TOTAL BWF Para badminton World Championships 2019, that will be held in Basel, Switzerland, from August 20 to 25.

Athletes from Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Peru and United States reached qualification and accepted the quota to compete among the best in the world.

World Ranked N°1 Giuliana Poveda (PER) is favorite to get the Crown in Singles SS6 but she will have to face the defing champion, Rachel Choong, to reach the title this time (in last edition, Poveda lost the final against Chong). Also, Poveda will compete in Doubles with Katherine Valli (USA) looking for the gold.

Vitor Tavares (BRA) are also a prominent athlete in SS6 category. He will seek the crown in Singles, in Doubles with Miles Krajewski (USA) and in Mixed Doubles with Ruby Fernandez (PER).

Pilar Jauregui (PER), Pan Am Champion in WH2, will seek the podium . Pilar is seeded 5 and will show her best game in Singles and Doubles.

Yuka Choyku and Pascal Lapointe are some of the highlighted Canadian players that will compete in this World Championships. Chokyu will look for the podium in Singles WH1 and in Doubles with Jauregui. While Lapointe will compete in Singles SL4 and in Mixed Doubles SL3-SU5 with Olivia Meier (CAN).

Marcelo Alves and Julio Cesar Godoy (BRA) will seek the gold in Doubles WH1-WH2. Brazilian duo are our Pan Am Champions 2018 and will also compete in Singles, Alves in WH1 and Godoy in WH2.

Colombia’s star, Jean Paul Ortiz compete in SU5 category and will seek to show his best game in search of a medal for his country.

Also in SU5, Cintya Oliveira (BRA) is seeded 3 and will seek her first medal in World Championships. She will compete in Singles, Doubles with Abinaecia Da Silva and Mixed Doubles with Leonardo Zuffo.

The TOTAL BWF Para Badminton World Championship 2019 will held in simultaneous with the Badminton World Championships 2019 in Basel, Switzerland with the participation of the best players of the World.
