Near the Podiums- Parapan Am Games 2019

Pan Am Athletes from Brazil, Canada, Guatemala, Peru and United States won in Semifinals and will compete for the gold medal at VI Parapan Am Games Lima 2019.

Today, Semifinals of Lima 2019 was held and some of our Pan Am Players secured medals in exciting matches.

Pedro Pablo De Vinatea will dispute the Men’s Singles SL3 final against Leonardo Zuffo after defeated Rolando Bello and William Roussy in Semifinals Respectly. Bello and Roussy will compete for the bronze medal while Renan Rosso and Wulnims Franco will do the same for the fifth place.

Guatemala’s star, Raul Anguiano reached the podium after defeated Pascla Lapointe (CAN) in Semifinals, and will face Rogerio De Oliveira (BRA) in the final. De Oliveira reached the final after won the match against Pablo Cesar Cueto (PER) in straight games. Cueto and Lapointe will compete for the bronze medal, and Eric Johnson (USA) and Anthony Alvarado (VEN) will define the fifth place at SL4 category.

In Women’s Singles WH2, Yuka Chokyu (CAN) reached finals after defeated Daniele Souza (BRA) and will face Pilar Jauregui (PER) for the gold. Souza and Maydelin Soriano (CUB) will face each for the bronze while Amy Burnett (USA) and Catalina Jimeno (CHI) will compete for the fifth place.

Eduardo Oliveira (BRA) and Ricardo Cavalli (BRA) won in Semifinals and will dispute the gold of Men’s Singles SU5. Kleiber Mijares (VEN) and Jean Paul Ortiz (COL) will compete at third place match while the fifth place will be defined between Peruvians Esteban Juarez and Alberto Cadenillas.

Brazil’s duos Marcelo Alves/Julio Cesar Godoy and Rodolfo Cano/Romulo Soares will compete for the title in Men’s Doubles WH1-WH2. They defeated duos Bernard Lapointe/Richard Peter (CAN) and Jaime Aranguiz/Constancio (CHI) respectly, who will dispute for the podium third place. Ronald Miranda/Roberth Fajardo (PER) and Joaquin Palma/Pablo Pimentel (MEX) will seek the fifth place.

Miles Krajewski (USA) reached the final after defeated Wyatt Lightfoot (CAN) in Semifinals, and will face Vitor Tavares for the gold medal in SS6 category. For the third place, Jesus Salva (PER) will compete against Lightfoot. Angel Ielpo and Brayan Abarca will define the 5th and 6th places.

Women’s Doubles SU5 and Mixed Doubles SL3-SU5 are been defined in Round Robin system and soon we will know the champions.

Para badminton competition will held from August 29 and we will know the first Parapan Am Games champions next August 31 and September 1st.
