The Herbalife International Series Guatemala 2017 was held from September 26 to 29, at the facilities of Guatemalan Badminton Federation in the Sports Coliseum of the city of Guatemala.
This tournament counted with the participation of 100 athletes coming from 16 countries : Brazil, Canada, Chile, Cuba, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, India, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Portugal, Suriname and USA.
Kevin Cordon (GUA) who just won the gold in Mexico and in the Carebaco Open, crowned champion once more in Male Singles event by wining the cuban Leodannis Martinez at finals 16-21, 21-17, 7- 4 .
In Women Singles, peruvian Daniela Macìas crowned champion by beating Tahimara Oropeza (CUB) 21-16, 22-20 while in Male Doubles, the brothers Phillipe and Ryan Chew (USA) won guatemalans Rodolfo Ramirez and Jonathan Solis, 21-11, 21-10.
In Women Doubles, the peruvian pair Daniela Macìas and Danica Nishimura took gold for second time, when imposing to the dominicans Noemi Almonte and Bermary Polanco, 21-12, 21-6. Macìas and Nishimura just won gold at the VIII Mexican International.
Finally, in Mixed Doubles event, the cuban couple Leodannis Martinez and Tahimara Oropeza, won the first podium by beating Christopher Martinez and Diana Corleto (GUA) 17-1, 21-13, 21-11.
