Finals day at Santiago 2023 started with the Women’s Doubles match where Canada’s pair won the first gold for their team. Josephine Wu and Catherine Choi got the crown after defeating Annie & Kerry Xu in a 3-games-match (21-18, 10-21, 21-17).

Juliana Viana Vieira/Sania Lima (BRA) and Miriam Rodriguez/Romina Fregoso (MEX) completed the Women’s Doubles podium.

In Men’s Doubles, defending champion Nyl Yakura, along with Adam Dong, repeated the gold after a tough match against Brazilians Fabricio Farias/Davi Silva. After lost first game (19-21), the Canadian duo knew how to recover and win with authority in the next two games (21-15, 21-18) to get the podium top.

The bronze medals were for Anibal Marroquin/Jonathan Solis from Guatemala, and Job Castillo/Luis Montoya from Mexico.

Beiwen Zhang won the Women’s Singles crown in her first participation at Pan Am Games. She defeated Jennie Gai in straight games to reach the gold. Rachel Chan (CAN) and Taymara Oropesa (CUB) got the bronze medals.

Brian Yang defeated 2-times Pan Am Games champion, Kevin Cordon, to surpass his result at Lima 2019 (runner-up) and be the new champion. Cordon got his second silver medal at Pan Am Games (2 golds, 2 silver, 1 bronze in total).

Ramon Garrido (MEX) and Ramon Garrido (MEX) got the bronze medals of the event. Uriel won the first badminton medal at Pan Am Games for his country, while Ramon reached the first Men’s singles medal at Pan Am Games for Mexico.

Josephine Wu won a second gold medal in Mixed Doubles, repeating the result she got last edition. Wu and Ty Lindeman defeated Vinson Chiu/Jennie Gai in a 3-games-match with some exciting moments and so close for both of them (17-21, 21-17, 21-19).

Jose Guevara/Ines Castillo (PER) and Davi Silva/Sania Lima reached the 3/4 places and the bronze medals.
