Pan American athletes delivered an outstanding performance at the Babolat French Para Badminton International 2026, returning home with 10 medals (2 gold, 1 silver, and 7 bronze) after six days of competition at the Centre Sportif Régional Alsace, France. Players from Peru, Brazil, Canada, and the United States once again demonstrated the growing strength of Para badminton across the region.
Peru led the medal haul thanks to Pilar Jauregui, who captured the Women’s Singles WH2 title. Seeded first, Jauregui advanced confidently through the draw before overcoming Korea’s Jung Gyeoul in a hard-fought semifinal. She then completed her campaign with a convincing victory (21-11, 21-18) over Türkiye’s Emine Seçkin in the final to secure the gold medal.

Peru also celebrated three bronze medals through Giuliana Poveda in Women’s Singles SH6, Silvia Arizapana alongside Brazil’s Ana Gomes in Women’s Doubles WH1-WH2, and Rubi Fernandez with Ukraine’s Nina Kozlova in Women’s Doubles SH6.

The United States claimed its gold medal in Women’s Doubles SH6, where Jayci Simon partnered with Egypt’s Yasmina Eissa. After an unbeaten run to the final, the duo came from one game down to defeat Chinese Taipei’s Cai Yi and Wu Yu, securing the title in three games (20-22, 21-15, 21-14). Simon also added a bronze medal in Women’s Singles SH6. Meanwhile, Canada’s Rishav Sharma, together with American Joshua Huang, earned bronze in Men’s Doubles SU5.
