Founded in 1976, Badminton Pan Am celebrates 50 years of leadership in the development and promotion of badminton across the Pan Am region. Over five decades, the Confederation has played a central role in strengthening national federations, expanding competitive structures, and positioning the region within the global badminton landscape.
Through flagship events such as the Pan Am Championships, the Pan American Games, and a steadily growing Pan Am Circuit, Badminton Pan Am has provided athletes with consistent international competition and clear pathways to World Championships and the Olympic Games. This has contributed significantly to the sport’s technical and competitive evolution in the continent.
Para badminton has been a key pillar of this growth. The Confederation has actively supported its development through continental championships and classification events, aligned with BWF standards. The region have produced world-class athletes, including world champions, who have become global references and symbols of excellence and inclusion within the sport.
In parallel, AirBadminton has emerged as a strategic tool for expansion and innovation. Its development in the region has delivered tangible results, highlighted by Brazil’s recent international success, confirming Pan America as a competitive and dynamic force in this new BWF discipline while expanding badminton’s reach beyond traditional venues.
Beyond competition, Badminton Pan Am continues to invest in education, governance, and institutional strengthening, working closely with the Badminton World Federation (BWF) as one of its five Continental Confederations.
As it looks to the future, Badminton Pan Am remains committed to growing participation, enhancing high performance, advancing inclusion through Para badminton, and embracing innovation through AirBadminton—building a stronger and more connected badminton community across the continent.
