YOG2018: Norma Rodrigues – BRA

Buenos Aires 2018 already culminated but is important to highlight our Pan Am Coaches who also played important roles during this event.

Norma Rodrigues, coach of Badminton Brazil Federation (CBBd), is in charge of the junior team of Braziland was in the Youth Olympic Games with Fabricio Farias and Jaqueline Lima, being one of the protagonists of the first Olympic medal that Brazil achieved in its history.

Let’s know more about Norma and her participation in Buenos Aires 2018:

How were the days in Buenos Aires?

Our participation in Youth Olympic Games 2018 was very rewarding because we achieved our goals that were to win games. We thought that we could advance by the main key but only one of each group qualified but we are very happy with our results.

For you, what has been the best of these Olympic Games?

The medal of Jaqueline in the Team Event was very good for us. It is our first Olympic medal. And it allows us to celebrate the result of a job done for many years by the CBBd, by all the coaches in Brazil who can now continue working and seek new and better goals.

After this experience, what’s next for you as a coach?

For me, as coach, I think I have learned many things here, not only in the competition but also in conversations with other coaches and when I see other guys training. This has been a good thing and yes, I am going to apply this in Brazil where we have many guys who need training that allows them to reach better levels.

Now, Norma and her team is looking for more points in the World Ranking and preparing for the next challenges that are Santo Domingo Open 2018 and the World Junior Championships in Canada.

Let’s go Norma!!!
