Peru Future Series Winners – Pan Am Circuit 2020

Pan Am players from Argentina, Guatemala, USA and host Peru won medals at Peru Future Series 2020, event of the Pan Am Circuit 2020, held from March 12 to 15, in Lima.

Guatemala’s players Christopher Martinez and Ruben Castellanos won the gold in Men’s Doubles, after defeating Mateo Delmastro and Santiago Otero (ARG) in straight games (21-12, 21-12). Jose Guevara/Diego Mini and Santiago De La Oliva/Diego Subauste are the peruvian athletes who got the bronze medals.

Peru’s duos reached the podium top in Women’s and Mixed Doubles. Daniela Macias and Danica Nishimura got one more gold in their doubles career after defeating also peruvians Paula La Torre and Ines Castillo in a 3 games-match. Ingrid Salas/Ines Mendoza (PER) and Mariana Paiz/Alejandra Paiz (GUA) won the 3/4 places.

Mixed Doubles podium was full of local players. Daniel La Torre and Paula La Torre won the title after defeating Santiago De La Oliva/Ines Mendoza in 2 games. Jose Guevara/Micaela Castillo and Diego Mini/Danica Nishimura reached the bronze medals in this event.

In Singles, Japan took both Men’s and Women’s podiums. Yushi Tanaka won the crown in Men’s Singles and Momoka Kimura did the same in Women’s Singles. Tanaka defeated athletes from Peru, Guatemala, USA and Japan. While, Kimura defeated Fernanda Saponara in semifinals and seeded one Daniela Macias in the final.

After the BWF announcement about the postponement of events until April due to COVID19, our players are looking forward to the future tournaments in which they will have the opportunity to continue showing their best game, and add points in the Road to Tokyo Ranking.

At the moment, the next tournament of the Pan Am Circuit 2020 will be the Peru International Series 2020, from April 16 to 19, followed by the Pan Am Individual Championship 2020 that changed venue.
