  1. At what age did you start in Badminton and how did you get into this sport?

“I started playing ever since I was very young and started really training around 12 years old.” 

  1. In how many tournaments have you participated and which have been your best results?

“I participated in 4 national tournaments and 2 international ones.  My ranking is #1 in Canada and I got a bronze at an international challenge!”

  1.  What does it feel like to be the number one in your country?

“It really feels great, it cost me a lot because it took me years to make it and many mistakes for which I learned the lesson. I know I have a way ahead to continue to demonstrate why I am number one and be better.”

4. To how many countries has Badminton taken you?

“9 Countries.”

  1. What anecdotes comes to your mind when you remember your trips?

“One time I missed my flight before Pan Am Junior Championships!  When I arrived, my luggage was lost for two days so I had to wear the same shirt to compete in 3 events two days in a row!  I ended up still winning the tournament and losing my luggage returning back to Canada too!”

6. Which are your short and medium term objectives as a Badminton player?

“I want to win an International Challenge and then medal in Grand Prix and Grand Prix Gold events, and definitely go to the Olympics Games.”

7. Do you perform other activities in parallel to your career as an athlete, such as studies or work?

“I did work this whole year because travelling is quite expensive and I am planning to compete in more international tournaments. I also go to University studying business and information technology.”

  1. How sacrificed is it to train and study or work at the same time?

“It is very tiring and hard on the body.  I always lack enough sleep and am so tired before training. However, I always still give it my all because I love the sport and it makes me happy to play!”

  1. How do you keep the commitment and discipline in your life?

“I learned many things from badminton.  A few main ones are perseverance, hard work, responsibility, and patience.  I can apply these to life such as when I have problems I try to fix them instead of giving up.  I also always try to give it my all and know that I am responsible for my actions.  Lastly, I learned to be patient.  Nothing comes easy and fast.  Work for it and the results will come one day! Just wait!”

  1. What has Badminton given to you?

“It gives me life lessons and a lot of skills such as responsibility and time management!”

  1. Which are your favorite hobbies?

“Gaming, watching movies, hanging out with friends.”

  1. Who was your first coach?

“My father.”

  1. What club do you represent?

“E Badminton Training Centre.”

  1. Is badminton popular in your country?

“It’s not that popular compared to our main sports but it’s growing very fast!”
