At what age did you start in Badminton and how do you get into this sport?
“I met badminton at age 5 and who taught me to this sport was my older brother.”

In how many tournaments did you participate and what were your best results?
“I have participated in about 20 junior and open tournaments, and I won Bronze medal in Central American and Caribbean Games Barranquilla 2018, Bronze in Pan Am Junior 2016, Gold in Carebaco Junior 2017 and bronze in Bolivarian Games 2017.”

Which are your short and medium term objectives as a badminton player?
“I want to be Pan Am Champion, in any modality, and take Dominican Republic to the Olympic Games.”

Do you perform other activities in parallel to your career as an athlete such as study or work?
“I play basketball, volleyball and I am preparing to enter the University.”

How sacrificed is it to train and study or work at the same time?
“It is a lot of tension. I had to work and train at the same time and I was very tired, since I worked from 7am to 4pm and then I trained.”

Which are your favorite hobbies?
“Play basketball, video games, draw and make designs.”

Who was your first coach?
“My first coach was Gregorio Figuereo.”

What is the hardest thing of being a high-level athlete?
“The most difficult thing is to handle the different tensions that are presented to us when joining the sport with the other responsibilities, but thank God that I can handled in a good way.”

Have you ever played in the Junior Pan Am Championship?
“Yes, in 2012 I got my first bronze in Men’s Doubles and in 2016 I got the second in Mixed Doubles.”

What would you say to people who want to practice badminton but see that it is not very popular in their country?
“I would tell them not to hesitate to practice badminton because it is one of the most beautiful and complete sports that exists.”
