Champions of the II Guatemala Future Series 2021

Pan Am Players fro Canada, Guatemala, United States and Peru won the medals at the II Guatemala Future Series 2021, Pan Am Circuit Event held in Guatemala from November 10 to 14.

Guatemalan players dominated in Mixed Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Men’s Singles.

The seeded one Mixed Doubles duo, Jonathan Solis / Diana Corleto, won the gold after defeating Nicolas Nguyen / Alexandra Mocanu (CAN) in the final. Sri Kolla/Nicole Frevold (USA) and Yeison Del Cid/Karolina Orellana (GUA) reached the 3/4 places.

Nikte Sotomayor and Diana Corleto reached the podium top in Women’s Doubles. The seeded one duo defeated pairs from Guatemala and United States to reach the final, where they faced Lauren Lam / Kodi Tang Lee winning in straight games (21-13, 21-19). Nicole Frevold/Ishika Jaiswal (USA) and Camille Leblanc/Eliana Zhang (CAN) won the bronze medals of the event.

In Singles, Ruben Castellanos won the crown after defeated players from United States and Canada. In the final, he faced Don Averia (USA) and won the gold after a 3-games-match (21-17,13-21,24-22). Enrico Asuncio and Justin Ma from United States completed the podium with the 3/4 positions.

Lauren Lam (USA) started the tournament as seeded 2 and she managed to be the best in at the end. She won the gold after defeating players from Canada, Guatemala, Peru and United States. In the final, she faced her compatriot Ishika Jaiswal (USA) and won the match in straight games (21-11,21-10). Fernanda Munar (PER) and Nikte Sotomayor (GUA) won the bronzes.

In Men’s Doubles, Enrico Asuncio and Don Averia defeated the seeded one duo, Jonathan Solis/Anibal Marroquin (GUA) in Semifinals, and the seeded two duo, Ruben Castellanos/Christopher Martinez (GUA) in the final, reaching the podium top. Xavier Laperriere/Nicolas Nguyen (CAN) and Solis/Marroquin reached the 3/4 places.

The Pan Am Circuit 2021 continues with the XII Mexican International 2021, where Pan Am Players will compete for the medals and reach more points in the Ranking.
