Brian Yang, silver medalist at Pan Am Games 2019, is still surprising. An injury did not allow Kevin to exhibit his best game and Yang got the victory by 21-8 and 21-4. Osleni Guerrero (CUB) and Alex Lane (ENG) got the bonzes.

Brazilian athletes won 3 titles in Santo Domingo.

Jaqueline Lima, youth olympic athlete and Pan Am Games medalist, won 2 golds and 1 bronze in this tournament. Lima, with Fabricio Farias, won the Mixed Doubles title after defeating the also brazilians Francielto Farias and Samia Lima. Cesar Brito/Nairoby Jimenez (DOM) and Nicolas Nguyen/Alexandra Mocanu (CAN) won the bronze medals in this event.

In Women’s Doubles Jaqueline won her second gold and with Samia Lima, after a three-games match against Alexandra Mocanu/Camille Leblanc (CAN). The first game was for Brazilian duo with a big difference in the score (21-12) but the second game showed a good recovery of the Canadians (20-22) forcing one more game. The maximum possible score (30-29) in a game was the one that determined the victory of the Brazilians in an exciting match. Local duos Mileiky Acosta/Michelle Guzman and Nairoby Jimenez/Bermary Polanco reached the 3/4 places.

Fabiana Silva took the Women’s Singles podium top after defeating Ruhi Raju (USA) in the final match after 3 tough games (21-13, 12-21, 21-13). Dominican star Nairoby Jiménez won bronze as did Jaqueline Lima (BRA).
