Champions in Peru – Pan Am Circuit

Athletes from Canada, Cuba, United States, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Argentina and host Peru won medals at Peru Future Series 2019, tournament held in Lima from May 8 to 12.

The fourth event of the Pan Am Circuit 2019 was played in Lima, Peru. The Peru Future Series had the participation of more than a hundred players from 15 differentes countries, looking for points for the World Ranking in the Road to Tokyo 2020.

Cuba’s players won 2 golds and one silver medal. Osleni Guerrero and Leodannis Martinez defeat locals Mario Cuba and Diego Mini in the MD final by 21-14 and 21-17 reaching the first gold for Cuba(featured image). Taymara Oropesa also won gold after beat Ghaida Nurul Ghaniyu (INA) by 19-21, 21-14 and 29-27. The silver medal was achieved by Osleni and Taymara in the XD Final. They could not overcome Vinson Chiu / Breanna Chi (USA) who won by 22-20 and 21-9.

Daniela Macías and Danica Nishimura won their second gold medal at Pan Am Circuit 2019. The Peruvian duo reached the final after defeat Ashley Montre/Constanza Naranjo (CHI), Nairoby Jimenez/Bermary Polando (DOM) and Diana Corleto/Nikte Sotomayor (GUA) winning the gold for Peru.

B.R. Sankeerth (CAN) won the Men Singles title after beat Brian Yang (12-21, 21-11 and 21-19) in the final. The podium was completed by locals Jose Guevara and Daniel La Torre.

Duos from Dominican Republic, William Cabrera/Nelson Javier and Nairoby Jimenez and Bermary Polanco, won bronze medals for their country.

Nicolas Oliva and Santiago Otero also reached the podium in Men’s Doubles.
