World Junior Championships 2018

On Monday will start the Li-Ning BWF World Junior Badminton Championships 2018. Important event that takes place in Markham, Canada, and our Pan Am players will seek to represent our region in the best way possible.

BrazilGuyanaMexicoPeruUnited States and host Canada will participate in this event that will show us the future stars of our sport, and our region will have the pleasure of enjoying the best youth badminton in the world.

The Li-Ning BWF World Junior Badminton Championships is split into two competitions: The Team Event “Suhandinata Cup” and theIndividual Event “Eye-Level Cup”.

Pan Am Teams in Suhandinata Cup 2018:

Host Canada, led by Brian Yang (gold in YOG 2018- Team Event) and Talia Ng (gold in Pan Am Junior 2018), has a great team and will look for “make respect the house” when facing hard rivals like Malaysia, runner- up in last edition, in Group B.

Peru will seek to add as many points as possible in Group C where it will face the always talented team from Thailand. Fernanda Saponara, who participated in Buenos Aires 2018, is at the head of the team to achieve the feat.

In Group D, Brazil will dispute a place to continue advancing in the tournament. The team led by the Olympians Fabricio Farias and Jaqueline Lima (Bronze in YOG 2018 – Team Event) will face tough rivals such as Chinese Taipei and France but will seek to improve the historic result obtained last year, position 21, second Pan Am Team best placed.

Team USA have a hard work to do in group G where they will face Denmark and Singapore. Sanchita Pandey and Esther Shi(runners-up in WD Pan Am Junior 2018) and Winston Tsai and Ryan Zheng (runners-up in MD Pan Am Junior 2018) will lead their team to reach the best results. In this group G is also Guyana with the prominent Priyanna Ramdhani.

Mexico will face the always hard team Indonesia. Nicole Marquez and Adelina Quiñones, bronze in WD Pan Am Junior 2018, will seek to take their team to the first places in group H.

The Team Event for the Suhandinata Cup will be held between November 5th and 10th, 2018.
