Five in a Row

For the fifth consecutive time, the United States of America is crowned champion at the Team Event and raised the Pan Am Junior Trophy!

On this occasion, USA Team defeated Canada 3 to 1, in an exciting final.

USA began the competition as seeded 1 and led Group A after defeating Costa Rica (5-0) and Paraguay (5-0). In Quarter Finals, they defeated Jamaica (3-0) and Mexico (3-0) in Semifinals. It was only in the final that they lost a match but managed to consolidate the victory firmly against Canada (3-1).

“I’m very happy with the result. I think the hardest part was adjusting my attitude; it was very tiring, and although we lost the Women’s Singles, we were able to finish the match in the Women’s Doubles.” said Garret Tan from the USA.

Team Canada took the silver medal, after topping Group B with victories against El Salvador (5-0) and Peru (5-0). They had resounding victories over Guatemala (3-0) and Brazil (3-0) to reach the final where they were unable to defeat the USA.

“The goal was to win the gold medal, but it’s great to have won silver. I’m proud that we worked together as a team, and it was fun to be here”, referred Asher Bedi from Canada.

Brazil got the bronze medal by defeating Mexico and taking revenge for the 2024 edition where they lost in the bronze medal match. After leading Group D with victories against Barbados (5-0) and Jamaica (5-0), they defeated Peru in Quarterfinals but lost in Semifinals against Canada.

“I’m very happy. Last year we narrowly lost to Mexico, but this year we came back stronger and more prepared, and we really wanted to win a medal. The mental pressure is always the hardest part. But we managed it well and were very determined to achieve our goals.” said Juliana Murosaki from Brazil.
