Shuttle Time Panama 2025: Training New Teachers and Tutors

The Shuttle Time program arrived in Panama City, bringing together teachers and tutors in a key initiative aimed at strengthening badminton development in the country. The course represented an important step in preparing new leaders responsible for teaching and promoting the sport.

The event was led by instructor Oscar Vera and gathered 21 graduates in physical education and related fields, all seeking certification as Shuttle Time Teachers. At the same time, eight tutors participated in the process to obtain the Shuttle Time Tutor certification, coordinated jointly by the national federation and the Badminton World Federation.

The course took place from February 14 to 16, featuring intensive sessions that combined both theoretical learning and practical training. As part of the evaluation process, participants were required to design and plan badminton teaching activities. At the conclusion of the three-day program, all 21 teachers successfully completed the course and obtained their certification, representing an important boost for the growth of badminton in Panama.

The tutor training process began with a group interview on February 15, where the program’s responsibilities and expectations were outlined. After successfully completing their assigned activities, all eight candidates achieved their certification as Shuttle Time Tutors.

For the Badminton World Federation, the Shuttle Time Panama course represents a successful initiative, providing comprehensive training that covers different areas of badminton development, including school programs, university environments, Special Olympics, and Para badminton. Programs like this continue to strengthen the educational foundation of the sport and prepare new teachers and tutors to support badminton growth across the region.
