Pan Am players from El Salvador, Guatemala and Mexico took the podiums at VI Guatemala Junior International 2019, tournament held in Guatemala City from September 18 to 22.

Guatemala’s players got the most medals this weekend with the MS and XD podiums filled of local athletes.
Axel Flores defeated seeded 1, Daniel Dieguez, in the MS final (15-21, 21-19 & 21-16) winning the gold medal. Yeison Del Cid and Jose Luis Granados got the bronze medals in this event.
Yeison Del Cid and
Ana Lucia Albanes climbed to the top of the podium two times. Together, they won the gold medal in Mixed Doubles after defeating
Antonio Ortiz/Karolina Orellana in Mixed Doubles final. Also, Del Cid won gold in MD with
Antonio Ortiz, and Ana Lucia did the same in WD with
Sara Barrios.
The surprise came in WS, where
Vanessa García (MEX) defeated seeded 2, Ana Lucia Albanes, in Semifinals and seeded 1, Sara Barrios, in the final, in a 3-games matches. García won the gold after defeating Barrios by 21-16, 15-21 and 21-10.
El Salvador also had players in the podiums. Duos
Javier Alas/William Villacorta and
Daniela Hernandez/Daniela Matamoros got the bronze in MD and WD respectly, after reaching the semifinals of the tournaments.
