From 8 am (GMT-6) on Sunday 29 will be held the XXII Pan Am Individual Championships 2018 Finals, continental tournament that takes place in the Teodoro Palacios Flores Arena, in Guatemala city.

The tournament final day will start with Mixed Doubles Final, where Canadian duos Nyl Yakura / Kristen Tsai and Ty Lindeman / Josephine Wu will face each other for the gold medal. Yakura and Tsai came to this stage after defeating the Mexicans Andres Lopez and Cynthia Gonzalez in Semifinals, Lindeman and Wu did the same against Jonathan Solis and Diana Corleto from Guatemala.
Brazilian star, Ygor Coelho wants to climb back to the top of podium when he faces Jason Ho-Shue (CAN) in the Singles final. (Ygor won the final in 2017 and Jason in 2016.) Coelho reached the final after beating Osleni Guerrero (CUB) 21-17 and 21-7. Minutes earlier, Jason beat local Kevin Gordon in 35 minutes, with a score of 21-14 and 21-17.
Michelle Li (CAN) wants to prevent Rachel Honderich (CAN) from winning again the gold medal in Singles, and will face tomorrow in the Final. Seeded 1, Li, claimed revenge in Semifinals by beating Brittney Tam (CAN), 21-10 and 21-18. (In 2017 Tam beat Li in Quarterfinals). For its part, Honderich comfortably beat Haramara Gaitan (MEX) by 21-7 and 21-10 in 33 minutes of game.

Ho-Shue and Yakura (CAN) will seek to win another gold medal in Men Doubles, modality of which they are 2016 and 2017 champions, and will face Phillip Chew and Ryan Chew (USA) in an exciting game. The Canadians defeated local duo Jonathan Solis / Rodolfo Ramirez in Semifinals by 21-12 and 21-11, while the Americans reached the final after defeating Job Castillo and Lino Muñoz (MEX) by 22-24 and 21-10.
In Women Doubles, Michelle Tong and Josephine Wu (CAN) wish to remain the Pan-American champions for third year in a row and will face Rachel Honderich and Kristen Tsai (CAN) in the Final. Tong and Wu beat Jennie Gai and Jamie Hsu (USA) by 21-17 and 21-15 in Semifinals. Honderich and Tsai did the same with Ines Castillo and Paula La Torre (PER) by 21-10 and 21-12 in 27 minutes of game.
At the end of the day we will meet the new Pan-American champions, don’t stay out!
