Santo Domingo Junior Champions

Last week, Dominican Republic received the III Santo Domingo Junior International 2018 at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center where Venezuelan and Dominican athletes exhibited their best badminton in search of the podium.

Nairoby Jimenez (DOM) won triple crown showing the great level that allowed her to reach the Youth Olympic Games 2018.

Jimenez beat Tiffany Sanchez (VEN) in Singles final, and along with Clarisa Pie (DOM) and Yonatan Linarez (DOM) won gold medals in Girls Doubles and Mixed Doubles respectively.

Venezuela’s Joiser Calanche and Manuel Quijada did the same in Boys Doubles where they beat the locals Yonatan Linarez and Daniel Acosta, who were the winners, in Singles, of gold and silver medals respectively.

A pleasant surprise was the presence of Venezuelan athletes in the 5 podiums, demonstrating the development of our sport in the country and the great talents they have.

Now, our Pan Am players are competing at the IX Santo Domingo Open looking for add points in the World Ranking.
