A new Future Series took place in the Pan American region, this time in Bolivia. Held from August 11 to 15 at the Max Toledo Coliseum, the tournament provided emerging talents with another opportunity to compete internationally and earn valuable experience. After five days of competition, South American athletes claimed three gold medals: two for Bolivia and one for Colombia.
Bolivia Celebrates Two Doubles Titles
The host nation enjoyed a successful tournament, claiming gold in both Men’s and Women’s Doubles.
In Men’s Doubles, Jorge Paniagua and Gabriel Rosales produced a strong campaign against mostly fellow Bolivian pairs. Their toughest challenge came in the quarterfinals against Mamani and Mendoza, where they battled through three games to advance (12-21, 21-13, 24-22).
After a convincing semifinal performance, Paniagua and Rosales faced compatriots Colque and Villagra for the title. The eventual champions controlled the decisive moments of the match to secure the gold medal in straight games (21-15, 21-19).
Bolivia’s second title came through Mullisaca and Siviora in Women’s Doubles. The pair advanced to an all-Bolivian final against Flores and Liceras, where they delivered a dominant performance to capture the championship (21-3, 21-6).

Juliana Giraldo Claims Gold for Colombia
Juliana Giraldo completed the South American gold-medal haul with an impressive run in Women’s Singles.
After receiving a bye in the opening round, the Colombian defeated Bolivia’s Siviora in the quarterfinals (21-3, 21-10) before overcoming Panama’s Kelly Yau in the semifinals (21-6, 21-4).
The final provided Giraldo with her biggest challenge as she faced Poland’s Skorkowska. In a much tighter contest, the Colombian remained composed in the key moments to secure the title in straight games (21-18, 21-17).

More Podiums for the Region
Pan American athletes also reached the podium in the remaining events. In Men’s Singles, Paraguay’s Leo Lee advanced to the final and earned silver after a competitive match against Malta’s Matthew, while Suriname’s Bisphan secured a bronze medal.

The Mixed Doubles draw also featured a strong regional presence. Liu/Yau (PAN) and Mamani/Condori (BOL) earned bronze, while Bolivia’s Siviora/Rosales reached the final and claimed silver after falling to the European pairing of Matthew (MLT) and Skorkowska (POL).

The Bolivia Future Series 2026 provided another valuable international stage for emerging players across the region. Badminton Pan Am congratulates all participating athletes and celebrates the achievements of the Pan American players who reached the podium in Bolivia.
