From November 7 to 9, the Badminton Pan American Confederation successfully hosted the BWF Events Management Level 1 Course in Lima, Peru, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the professionalization of event operations across the continent.
The three-day program brought together representatives from the national associations of Barbados, Bolivia, Canada, Paraguay, and Peru, fostering a collaborative learning environment where participants exchanged experiences, challenges, and best practices in tournament organization.
Under the guidance of Mr. Ricardo Salamanca, Events Director of the Badminton Pan American Confederation, attendees explored the full spectrum of event management principles promoted by the Badminton World Federation. The course focused on essential topics such as event structure, planning and logistics, venue preparation, athlete services, competition management, and the implementation of standardized operational procedures.

Throughout the sessions, participants engaged in practical exercises and case analyses designed to help them apply BWF-recommended tools and methodologies within their local contexts. The initiative forms part of Badminton Pan Am’s long-term strategy to elevate the quality and consistency of events held across the region, enhancing both the experience of athletes and the professionalism of member associations.
With this course, the Confederation reaffirms its commitment to building technical capacity across the Americas and supporting its members in the delivery of world-class badminton events.
