Having won his first double title since November 2022, Paralympic silver medallist Miles Krajewski is thankful that his transition to full-time training is paying off.
After his silver medal finish at Paris 2024 in Short Stature (SH6) mixed doubles with Jayci Simon, Krajewski performed creditably in his three tournaments this season before arriving at the Peru Para Badminton International 2025 in Lima last week.
The USA player had won the SH6 doubles in Spain in March, but he had faltered in the men’s singles semifinals of all three tournaments.
In Peru, however, Krajewski was in brilliant form, winning all his matches in straight games. The men’s singles final against Spain’s Ivan Segura took him 25 minutes (21-10 21-13), while in the mixed doubles final, Krajewski and Egypt’s Yasmina Eissa beat Canada’s Justin Kendrick/Colleen Cloetta 21-14 21-8 in 23 minutes.
“This victory means a lot just because I came off tough losses, so I went home, trained some more, and thankfully I performed well at this tournament. It means a lot to win an international tournament,” said Krajewski.
“I just kept on training. Now I am located in Dallas, Texas, training full-time, which is nice because earlier I was training just part-time. I will focus on winning the Pan Am Championships and them doing well at the World Championships. That’s the goal right now and hopefully in the future, to make LA28 and win a medal there.”

Peru’s SH6 player Giuliana Poveda won her first women’s singles title in over three years. Having fallen short in several finals, Poveda finally capitalised on the opportunity, beating Yasmina Eissa 21-8 21-7.
“After a long time, I finally earned an international title,” said Poveda. “It’s something I had been waiting for a long time. There are still some things to improve, but I believe this is the beginning of a process of growth and preparation for upcoming tournaments. Since March, I’ve been training with a new coaching team, and we’ve been working on getting stronger physically, doing more fitness training, and improving certain shots. I feel happy and grateful for all the people who came to support me.”
