Seeking the Crown – Pan Am 2019

The XXIII 2019 Pan American Championship will have the best of the Pan American badminton. Canadian players have won the Women’s singles title for 8 years, can anyone take the crown out of Canada in this edition? Let’s know out more about the players that will compete in Women’s Singles.

Our two times Pan Am Games Champion, Michelle Li, will look for her 4th crown in Pan Am Championships. After competing at the BWF Tour Finals last year, Li continued to participate in the World Tour this year but an injury took her away from the courts. Now, she is recovering for a great comeback at Pan Am Individual 2019.

Also Canadian, Brittney Tam, Champion in 2016 and bronze in last edition, is looking for add a new crown in her career and, after compete at World Tour tournaments in Asia and Europe, she will want to reach the finals and take the gold medal one more time.

United States Players Crystal Pan, Isabel Zhong and Disha Gupta want to recover this crown for USA (in 2010 Cee Nantana Ketpura won the gold). They also have experience in high level tournaments and will show their best game to reach the podium.

Daniela Macías (PER) will seek to return to the podium in which she was in 2016, aiming to achieve as many points as possible to get a better location in the ranking and a better seed for the next 2019 Pan American Games that will take place in her country.

Mexico’s Mariana Ugalde will look to get on the podium and enforce the locality. Ugalde, has had periods of training in Europe and hopes to get a medal for his country, inspired because this time the tournament is played at home.

Also, Brazil star Fabiana Silva will seek the glory this time but will have outstanding players from Guatemala, Dominican Republic and Canada in front of them to reach the top of the podium.

Recognized players like Haramara Gaitan, Talia Ng, Taymara Oropesa, Diana Corleto, Maria Delia Zambrano, Bermary Polanco, among others, will also seek to reach as far as possible and give a medal to their country.

The XXIII Pan Am Individual Championships 2019 will be played from April 25th to 28th at the Gimnasio Olimpico de Ciudad Deportiva de Aguascalientes, Mexico.
